Prayer

Gracious Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the guidance and wisdom found in Your Word concerning the role of deacons in the body of Christ. We acknowledge that the establishment of the diaconate is a divine provision for the flourishing of Your church and the care of Your people.

Lord, we lift up those who serve as deacons in our midst. May they be filled with Your Spirit, adorned with the qualities outlined in Scripture – dignified, not double-tongued, and faithful stewards of their households. Grant them discernment and wisdom as they navigate the responsibilities entrusted to them, seeking Your guidance in every decision.

Lord, we pray for unity among the deacons, that they may work together harmoniously, supporting and uplifting one another in their service. May their actions be characterized by the love and humility exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father, we ask for Your blessing upon the families of our deacons, recognizing the sacrifices they make in sharing their loved ones with the church. Strengthen these families and pour out Your grace upon them.

Lord, empower our deacons to serve with joy and compassion, mirroring the servant-heartedness of Christ. May their actions not only meet practical needs but also reflect the love of Christ, drawing others closer to You.

We thank You, Lord, for the gift of deacons and their vital role in the life of the church. May their service bring glory to Your name and contribute to the flourishing of Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen.
